State police at Frackville reported investigating a two vehicle crash near Tamaqua on Monday, Oct. 7.

Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Tamaqua was driving a 2002 Ford Escort southbound on Valley Road in Walker Township, about 10:52 a.m. and negotiating a right curve.

The teen failed to maintain his lane of travel and entered the northbound lane where Nicholas C. Edmonds, 23, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer. Edmonds tried to avoid a collision but could not with the front of the Explorer struck by the Escort.

After impact the Escort traveled 30 feet and came to rest in the southbound lane facing south. The Explorer came to rest in the southbound lane facing north.

No one was injured. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited the teen for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
