All of the defendants scheduled for preliminary hearings on driving under the influence (DUI) charges last week in the court of District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, elected to waive their charges to Schuylkill County court.

Cara Lynn Eroh, 37, of 18 Hill Top Road, Barnesville, was charged with two counts of DUI of alcohol as well as a single count of careless driving following a Nov. 12, 2012, incident in Tamaqua. The charges were filed by Patrolman Thomas Duarte.

She was released on her own recognizance.

Kristiann Gallagher, 44, of rear 36 E. Blaine St., McAdoo, faces trial on charges filed by Rush Township Patrolman Corey Herring following an Aug. 2 incident. The charges include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI of a controlled substance, speeding, failure to use a seat belt, and DUI of Metabolite.

She was released on her own recognizance.

Carlos Verela, 24, of 42 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, was charged by McAdoo Patrolman Steven Homanko following a June 30 incident. The charges include two counts of DUI and speeding.

He was released on his own recognizance.

John Fatula, 78, of 305 E. Chapel St., Hazleton, was charged with two counts of DUI and failure to use the required turn signals. The charges stem from a June 22 incident and were filed by McAdoo Patrolman William Curilla.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Joseph J. Forster II, 35, of 307 Market St., Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township police Sgt. Duane Frederick following an Aug. 8 incident. The charges include two counts of DUI of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Donald F. Fernandes III, 23, of 120 E. Holland St., Summit Hill, will have a court trial on charges of DUI, driving without a license, careless driving, and having improper tires. He was charged by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton following a n Aug. 31 incident.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Michael Martin Sedlock, 26, of 71 Bowe St., Tamaqua, was charged with DUI of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and driving without rear lights. The charges stem from a July 31 incident and were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Sinton.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Geraldine Sydlo, 52, of 647 Winters Ave., West Hazleton, was charged with DUI and having no rear lights by McAdoo Patrolman Curilla. The charges stem from a July 11 incident.

She was released on her own recognizance.

James P. Felmey Jr., 50, 115 Chestnut St., Swedesboro, N.J., faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to retain drivers record of duty status by Rush Township Patrolman Sinton. The charges stem from an Oct. 22 incident.

He was released on $10,000 percentage bail.

Brian S. Fritz, 37, of 335 Hazle St., Tamaqua, was charged with DUI following a May 11, 2012, incident. A charge of possession of marijuana was withdrawn by the arresting officer, Coaldale Patrolman Joseph Krebs.

He was released on his own recognizance.
