Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Mahoning Valley Ambulance, Lehighton. Members are asked to bring a toy for the annual "Toys for Tots" program.

During the meeting, the club will provide monetary donations to two area nonprofit organizations. Reservations should be called to Lion Alicia Silliman by Monday, Dec. 5.

Community members are encouraged to place used eyeglasses at any of the following Lehighton locations: Lehighton High Rise, Lehighton Library, PNC Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Jim Thorpe National Bank, Mallard Market, Lehighton Municipal Building, Dr. Hawk Dental Office, Dr. Dematte Chiropractic, PNC Bank, and Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital. Eyeglasses are recycled for those in other countries who are unable to afford corrective lenses.

Anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairwoman, Lisa Whitehead at 610-379-4002. There are financial guidelines that must be followed by all applicants and a written application must be completed and approved.

Bethany E.C. Church

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, North Street, Lehighton, will hold weekly services, Sunday School (all ages) at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship service, 10:45 a.m.; Kid's Club for children kindergarten through fourth grades every Monday at 6 p.m., Women's study in the Bible, Tuesday at 10 a.m.; and prayer meeting, Wednesday at 7 p.m. Wrapped in prayer ministry, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.

There will be a hymn sing, at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 at Peoples Evangelical Congregational Church, East Weissport.

Lehighton Bible Church

Lehighton Bible Church, Jamestown and Center streets, will hold a hymn sing at 7 p.m. today at the Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

There will be a Men's Breakfast and Fellowship at the Beacon 443 Diner at 8 a.m. Saturday Nov. 23.

There will be a Thanksgiving Eve Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27. Fellowship and refreshments follows.

Ladies Night Out will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at the Old Time Christmas in Jim Thorpe.

Christmas caroling will be held Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Lehighton Hi Rise.

There will be a Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

There will be a New Year's Eve service on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The movie "The Christmas Wish" will be shown.

Weekly services are held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sunday service are held at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
