Vandals caused extensive damage at a mining operation in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at a stripping pit a half mile east of Breaker Road in Schuylkill Township.Unknown criminals smashed the windows and taillights on a Mack fuel truck, and smashed the windows and operating controls of a Manitowoc drag line. Damages were estimated at over $4,000. The damaged vehicles are the property of Hammond Mining Company of Minersville.The incident occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, and 9 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
