The Palmerton United Veterans Organization will hold a short dedication ceremony in observance of Veterans Day.
A dedication of all the new names and blocks that have been added to the Palmerton Veterans Memorial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday in the borough park.
This year, the PUVO, which consists of Legion Post 269 and VFW Post 7134, will add 248 more names to the memorial stones, as well as 65 bricks, 30 blocks and three benches.
In addition, Palmerton native George H. Duell Jr., Army Reserve Ambassador for Pennsylvania, will serve as the main speaker.
"Come and show your support for all veterans," said Joe Uhnak, first vice commander, American Legion Post 269.
"Also for the friends and family members of those being remembered and honored this day."
T-shirts, sweatshirts and hats will be available for purchase.
Additional names for the stones are now being accepted, along with the purchase of any 4-by-8, 6-by-9, and 10-by-14 granite blocks.
The names, and bricks, can be purchased by calling Ed Moyer at 570-261-9086 or firstname.lastname@example.org; or Uhnak at 610-826-2902, or email@example.com.
The new names and bricks will be accepted until July 1, 2014.
They will then be installed and dedicated on Veterans Day 2014.
Last Veterans Day the PUVO dedicated the memorial, complete with 3,577 names.
