With the regular season packed away and the PIAA and Eastern Conference playoffs on the table, this corner is looking ahead and can't wait for winter sports season to get under way since the temperatures keep dropping as we settle into Novemember.

That isn't the case for five TN area football teams, however, who have lived to see another week of the pigskin sport.

Pleasant Valley and Lehighton are still alive for District 11 gold while Jim Thorpe, Northwestern Lehigh and Marian are in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Looking over the grid, even though it's playoffs, this looks like a pretty easy week so let's take a look:

PLEASANT VALLEY AT WHITEHALL - Brian Gilbert's Zephyrs will throw a defense at the Bears and an early welcome to the LVC...Whitehall, 35-7.

LEHIGHTON AT BETHLEHEM CATHOLIC - Young Indians have come a long way under Tom McCarroll in two years, but Golden Hawks are getting back to days of old...Becahi, 21-7.

SAUCON VALLEY AT JIM THORPE - Panthers have a bruising running game, Olympians have speed. Could be a dandy..Saucon Valley, 23-14.

NANTICOKE AT NORTHWESTERN - The Tigers have improved each week of the season and as long as they still aren't celebrating the win over Catty, thy'll be fine...Northwestern, 35-7.

MARIAN AT MUNCY - Colts have to be happy to make the post-season with all of the injuries they have had...Marian, 21-7.

SCRANTON AT EAST STROUDSBURG SOUTH - Could be the first time the Cavaliers are underdogs all year...ES South, 21-20.

EASTON AT WYOMING VALLEY WEST - This could be a win for the Red Rovers, but we need to go out on the limb here...Wyoming Valley West, 14-13.

STROUDSBURG AT PARKLAND - Another welcome to the LVC game...Parkland, 35-6.

POTTSVILLE AT SOUTHERN LEHIGH - There's been some chatting going on from people that feel like the Crimson Tide shouldn't have even got into the post-season...Southern Lehigh, 20-7.

PALISADES AT PINE GROVE - The Cardinals get in every year it seems and never wins a district championship. I like Palisades, but I pick...Pine Grove, 14-7.

PEN ARGYL AT CATASAUQUA - Loss last week might have been just what the Roughies needed. No repeat of last year...Catasauqua, 28-7.

PIUS X AT WILLIAMS VALLEY - By strength of schedule, I'm going with...Williams Valley, 24-14.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN AT TRI-VALLEY - Hurricanes are playing like the team everyone thought they were at the beginning of the season...Schuylkill Haven, 26-7.

NAZARETH AT POCONO MOUNTAIN EAST - Blue Eagles haven't been as good as they were last year, but still good enough to make the post-season...Nazareth, 28-6.

NORTH PENN AT NORTH SCHUYLKILL - It's not districts, so Spartans should do a little better than they have in the past...North Schuylkill, 28-7.
