Two local Navy men are presently aboard the aircraft carrier Intrepid, which transported Astronaut Scott Carpenter to Grand Turk Island after his dramatic pick-up in the Atlantic Ocean. They are Daniel Kane Jr. of Summit Hill and Richard Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Snyder, Pittsburgh, formerly of Jim Thorpe. Kane is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Kane Sr. Carpenter had completed a three-orbit space mission.
