"Our club has been very fortunate with its Basket Spectacular," said Marj Federanich of the Palmerton Concourse Club. "We are happy to contribute to all the organizations here in the community." With that said, she began passing out checks to assembled representatives of their organizations: Marie Williams, representing the Concourse Club; Wayne Knirnschild of Towamensing Fire Company; Pam Andrews of the Palmerton Area Recreation Committee; Robbi Ahner of the Palmerton Band; Joe Koma of St. Vincent DePaul; Sharon Bonser and Calvin Craig of the Carbon County Special Olympics; Joan Turko of Breast Cancer Research and Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition and the Palmerton Bandstand; Dan Kunkle of Lehigh Gap Nature Center; Darlene Nothstein of Meals on Wheels; Federanich of the Concourse Club; Diane Danielson of the Palmerton Area Library; Larry Ahner of the Palmerton Memorial Park; Tammy Rodgers of Domestic Violence; Bill Smelas of the Palmerton Historical Society; George Ashman of CAPAC; Carl Kern of West End Fire Company #2; and Chris Kegel of the Aquashicola Fire Company. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Bowmanstown Fire Company were not represented.
