The Penn-Kidder Library Center, Inc. received its Certificate of Occupancy and will open Monday, May 13.
Hours are: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
The organizers of the all-volunteer independent public library invite all residents of Penn Forest and Kidder townships to stop in during regular hours to get their free library card and to tour the facility. Library services are available to surrounding community members and Pocono visitors as well.
Currently the library is providing lending materials consisting of books, audio books on CD, and DVD movies. Other services will be added in the future, including a Read-to-Me program. Public access computers are available for use, and the library is a Wi-Fi site. E-books are available for download from the library website at www.pennkidderlibrary.com.
The Penn-Kidder Library Center will always have used books for sale, which are very inexpensive.
The grand opening for the Penn-Kidder Library Center will be held on June 28-29 and will include all of the library's usual vendors plus book signing events by three local authors, Joe Paretta, Gene Duffy, and Sherry Hoffman.
Anyone wishing to volunteer at the library should stop in during regular hours to sign up.
Donations to the library can be sent to Penn-Kidder Library Center, Inc., PO Box 783, Albrightsville, PA 18210. Forms for the personalized bricks in the entry sidewalk are available on the website or at the library.
