Changing name would be costly expense

Dear Editor:

Once again the quandry has arisen over Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Injun Bones. What to do? What to do? I've voiced my opinion, what to do, a few times but you know what opinions are like, everybody has one and everyone thinks the other guy stinks. Whether his bones are here or not will not change anything, the town will still be Jim Thorpe! As far as I'm concerned they can have Dem Bones! As long as they pick up any and all expenses that it will cost to have them moved. The Thorpes are saying we can keep the name of the town. Man, ain't that mighty nice of them. While I do like the name Mauch Chunk, changing the name would be a costly expense and hassle not needed by the town or its citizens.Once he's gone all the stuff will still be there so you'll only have to change the signs from IS buried here to WAS buried here, an easy fix. It could be turned into the Jim Thorpe Memorial truck run off. Just put up some signs for the tourists, "IF YOU HEAR A HORN - RUN FOR COVER." You wouldn't have to repair it too often since runaway trucks are not all that common on Kattners Mountain, not like the Broad Mountain. All kidding aside, there's no Bones about it, the Thorpe's will give a whole new meaning to the term "INDIAN GIVER."A Native Chunker, happy to livein Jim Thorpe,Pete Bott,East Mauch Chunk
