State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes on Friday, March 1, along Schuylkill County roads.
A one-vehicle crash occurred about 1:03 p.m. along Burma Road, a mile north of Saint Clair, in Blythe Township. Troopers said Carol J. Narr, 49, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck southbound when she lost control while negotiating a left curve. The vehicle traveled off the road, spun around and struck a utility pole on the east berm with the rear portion.
Narr and her 2-year-old passenger were transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment. The truck had to be towed from the scene. The child was in a safety seat.
Troopers said she will be cited for the crash.
The second crash occurred about 2:50 p.m. along Interstate 81 in Forest Township. Troopers said Mary M. Cuthie, 65, of Ashland, was driving a 2012 Honda Odyssey van northbound when she fell asleep. The vehicle crossed over both northbound lanes and onto the west shoulder where it impacted with the guide rail. It downed six guide rail posts and about 50 feet of guide rail before spinning 170-degrees clockwise and coming to rest along the berm.
Cuthie was not injured. The van sustained severe damages, troopers noted.
She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
