Successful blood drive

Whether it was because they felt it was their civic duty, they wanted to enjoy the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall at the First United Church of Christ, plus the extra refreshments Palmerton donors are offered; or they wanted to enter one of several drawings Miller Keystone Blood Center is running this summer to encourage donations, 79 potential donors registered at the June 24 community blood drive, and 70 units of blood were collected.

Berger, 6 gallons; Mary Eckhart, 4 gallons; Robert Stevenson, 4 gallons (in Palmerton); Charles Hinkle, 3 gallons; Gayle Eckhart, 2 gallons; Carol Gougher, William Hayes, Kathy Lower, Ana Melo and Frank Tamburri, 1 gallon each.
