The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer volleyball league completed its first full week of action at Coaldale's Black Diamond Park.

Defending league champion Sandstorm and Can You Dig It both posted two sweeps on the week to remain undefeated and tied atop the standings (6-0).

Valley Athletic Supply (5-1) remains one game back after dropping the first game of the match to VBC Tomahawks-Seniors on Thursday evening.

TUESDAY'S RESULTS

Anything But Net-Sandstorm

Sandstorm started its championship defense in impressive fashion with a three-game sweep of Anything By Net – 25-14, 25-4, 25-14.

Christa Mantz had 19 service points and nine aces to lead Sandstorm.

For Anything But Net, Connor Trainer had three service points.

Valley Athletic Supply-Intensity

Valley Athletic Supply posted three straight wins against Intensity by final scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-21.

Marykate Sherkness had 24 service points in Valley Athletic's wins.

Tyler Krell had seven service points to lead Intensity.

Can U Dig It-Hope Wreckers

Can U Dig It capped off the night with three wins over the Hope Wreckers: 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.

Tricia McElmoyle served off 15 points, including seven aces, to pace Can You Dig It.

Lauren Hope accounted for 11 service points in Hope's losses.

THURSDAY'S RESULTS

Can U Dig It- VBC Tomahawks High School

Can U Dig It equaled its win total from all of last season (6) by posting three wins over VBC Tomahawks - High School (25-15, 25-21, 28-26) for its second sweep of the week.

Brendan Kash had eight service points for Can You Dig It.

Brandi Moyer's 10 service points led the way for the Tomahawks.

Victorious Secret-Sandstorm

Sandstorm moved to 6-0 on the season with a three-game sweep off Victorious Secret – 25-23, 25-15, 25-22.

Kyle Nevenglosky was the total scorer for Sandstorm with 12 service points.

Angela Rutch also scored 12 points for Victorious Secret in the losing effort.

Valley Athletic Supply-VBC Tomahawks Seniors

After dropping the first game of the match, Valley Athletic Supply rallied back to win the final two games of VBC Tomahawks - Seniors by finals scores of 25-27, 25-18, 25-19.

Steve Bennett led Valley Athletic with nine service points on the night.

For the Tomahawks, T.J. O'Connor led his team with nine points.
