Charges are pending against a pair of juveniles responsible for a rash of tire slashings in Palmerton last weekend.

Palmerton patrolman Christopher Ritter said there were 27 separate reports, the majority of which pertained to slashed tires, from June 13-17.

Ritter said the incidents were centered in the northeast section of town, primarily in the Residence Park area.

He said an officer who was out on the police department's recently established bike patrol observed several juveniles in an alley past curfew early Tuesday morning.

After making contact with them, the juveniles gave the officer information on the two juveniles responsible for the incidents, Ritter said. The two juveniles confessed, he said.

Anyone who was affected by the incidents who hasn't already done so is asked to contact the borough police department at (610) 826-4055 and provide documentation.
