Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, Third and Iron streets, Lehighton, will hold Fifth Sunday after Pentecost Service of the Word at 9 a.m. Coffee fellowship follows. Interim pastor the Rev. Donald Hayn presides. The church is air-conditioned.

A Service of Healing will be held during the June 30 worship service. The Service of Healing is especially beneficial to those with physical, emotional, spiritual burdens hoping that the load may be lightened.

Everyone is invited to a free Contemporary Christian music concert by Spokefolk at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7. Spokefolk is a faith-based group on a 12-day biking and music ministry tour. Trinity is among the stops, which include Catasauqua, Bear Creek Township, Mountaintop and Richlandtown.

Twelve youth and four adults will be traveling to Toms River, in Ocean County, N.J., during the week of July 8, offering post-Hurricane Sandy-type chores, assisting with ongoing relief efforts alongside other "Weekday Warriors."

The Barnstormers concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13. The members are from throughout the New England states. They give only three concerts per year. The 50-member choral group sing a mixture of oldies, pop, spiritual and patriotic tunes. Admission is free. For more information call (610) 377-4303.

Church plans children's event

Freedom Community Church invites children grades K-5 and their parents to participate in a free three-day children's event at the Lehighton Grove Park from 10:30 a.m to noon on Monday, June 24; Tuesday, June 25; and Wednesday, June 26. There will be games, music, Bible stories, crafts, and child-friendly snacks like sno-cones and popcorn. LCRC to meet

Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at the pavilion at the Weissport parking lot. The meeting is open to the public.
