A Monroe County teen was arrested on Monday and charged with attempting to sexually assault a student inside a female rest room in the Pocono Mountain West High School in Pocono Summit.
Pocono Mountain Regional police were called to the school about 10:45 a.m. on Monday, June 17, for a disorderly student. On scene officers learned that a student, identified as Alsonso McGill, 19, of Jonas, was being disorderly even after police arrived.
Police learned that McGill was found inside a female rest room with a juvenile female student. A school district hall monitor entered the area as part of their routnine patrol and interrupted a sexual assault and got the female student to safety.
McGill was being disorderly and defiant to school staff when police arrived. McGill refused to obey commands by police and attempted to leave the school. As police attempted to restrain McGill, he resisted, but was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with criminal attemp to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, a felony, indecent exposure, false imprisonment, open lewdness, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
He was arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $50,000 straight cash.
