It could cost Northern Lehigh School District nearly $239,000 to pave its stadium parking lot.
Four companies submitted bids to the district on Tuesday to replace existing pavement at Bulldog Stadium, with Livengood Excavators, Walnutport, turning in the apparent low bid of $238,645.
That amount was $24,054 less than the next lowest bid of $262,699 turned in by Bruce N. George Paving & Excavating, Kunkletown.
Other companies that bid were Muschlitz Excavating, Inc. of Bath ($303,303), and Schuylkill Paving, Inc., of Schuylkill Haven ($319,912).
Greg Derr, director of support services and transportation, said the bids "were in line with where we expected them to come."
Last month, the school board agreed to authorize administration to enter into a contract with the successful bidder for the paving project with a not to exceed amount of $250,000.
The project will be paid from the district's Capital projects account.
This past fall, the district unveiled its state-of-the-art multipurpose field, which includes an artificial surface, scoreboard, and security camera system.
