The Franklin Township Hurricanes continued their winning ways in Keystone Senior Babe Ruth League Play.

Northern Valley also earned a victory over South Parkland in Lehigh Vally Legion action.

Josh Kern turned in a solid pitching performance and Cody Hallman delivered at the plate to lead Northern Valley to a 6-1 win over South Parkland.

Kern went the distance on the mound, allowing seven hits and two walks while striking out five.

Hallman collected two hits, one a double, and knocked in three runs. Travis Nelmes chipped in with a double and run scored.

Fullerton-No. Valley

Jeff Charles tossed a three-hitter and struck out six batters to help Fullerton gain a 4-1 victory over Northern Valley.

AJ Figueroa and Brandon Purrone each had two hits and an RBI for the winners.

For Northern Valley, Dave Smith had two hits and scored a run. Cody Hallman suffered the loss, allowing two runs in five innings.

Pottsville used timely hitting and held off a late Tamaqua rally to earn a 6-4 win in Schuylkill-Berks Legion play.

Mike Kuperavage led the Pottsville offense, going 2-for-3, with a double and two runs scored. Josh Toomey threw six strong innings, allowing only three hits and one earned run to earn the win.

Luke Matsago hit a three run homer Tamaqua.

Hurricanes-Pocono Mt.

The Franklin Township Hurricanes jumped on Pocono Mountain early and used a dominant pitching performance en route to a 5-0 win.

Hurricanes' starter Dane Ciavarella hurled a complete game shutout, striking out nine while allowing only five hits and one walk. Ciavarella was also a force at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

With the win, Franklin Township improves to 6-1-1 this season.
