High-achieving members of Panther Valley High School's senior class were awarded scholarships on Monday night as part of the class's commencement ceremonies.

Jordan Kulp was awarded the Ernest Scheller III Memorial Scholarship for $12,000.

Jacob Tokosh was awarded $1,000 by the Panther Valley Board of Education, $200 by the John F. & Angelina Cerchiaro Memorial Scholarship and $1,000 by the Board of Directors Superintendent's Leadership Scholarship.

Samantha Zlock was awarded $500 by the Panther Valley Board of Education and $200 by the Philomena G. Fauzio Memorial Scholarship.

Richard Smith was awarded the Robert Fritzinger III Memorial Scholarship.

Joshua Covell was awarded the Class of 2012 scholarship for $75 and the Martin Mersky Memorial Award for $250.

Anthony German was awarded the Lansford High School Class of 1945 scholarship for $200.

Joshua Jacobs was awarded the John C. Slivka Memorial Fraternal Order of Police Award for $100.

Judy Lin was awarded the Liza Day Holmes Memorial Scholarship for $4,000.

Principal Joesph Gunnels said the Sonny Kovatch Scholarship Foundation Award was presented prior to graduation to Zlock and Kulp. Zlock received $1,500 and Kulp received $2,500.
