A Monroe County man has been charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident in Nesquehoning.
Nesquehoning police officer Dane O'Brien responded to a report of a domestic incident on June 8 about 7:25 p.m. occurring in a Ford Explorer on SR209 with the vehicle headed toward Jim Thorpe.
Jim Thorpe police were alerted and stopped a vehicle matching the description along 903 near the borough bridge and entrance to the Jim Thorpe Market.
The driver was identified as Robert James Gilabert, 48, of 2719 Rising Hill Rd., in McMichaels.
He is charged with assaulting his girlfriend, Elizabeth Ann Paine, police said.
