Two persons were cited after a crash in Monroe County. State police at Fern Ridge said the accident occurred about 11:56 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, in the parking lot of the Uni-mart, located along SR115, near Jonas Road, in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said the crash occurred as a vehicle was backing out of a parking spot and struck another vehicle. The driver of the backing vehicle attempted to leave without exchanging information, then stopped.

Troopers said a physical altercation occurred at the scene between occupants of both vehicles.

Timothy Kaps, 28, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 1994 Nissan Altima and backing out of the parking spot when his vehicle struck a 2009 Volkswagen Passat operated by Anthony Desimone, 57, of Effort. Troopers said Kaps punched Desimone in the face. Jacqueline G. Desimone, 65, a passenger with Anthony, then pushed and kicked Kaps.

West End ambulance arrived on scene to treat Anthony Desimone for a cut near his eye but he declined treatment.

Troopers said Kaps and Jacqueline Desimone were both cited for harassment.
