A Schuylkill County motorcyclist fled the scene of a crash and is now facing multiple charges.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Daryl Root, 30, of Schuylkill Haven, was operating a 2011 Suzuki bike southbound on SR183, in Wayne Township, about 1:10 a.m. on May 30 when he drove onto the gravel on the shoulder of the road.He lost control of the bike and it laid down and skidded along the shoulder before coming to rest facing south. Root then fled the scene before troopers arrived.The bike sustained minor damages and was towed. Root, who was not injured, faces multiple charges, troopers added.
