Truck, jewelry, guns are stolen

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between 11:30 a.m. July 22 and 1 p.m. July 24 at a residence in Pine Grove Township.

The victims are Sallie Deichert, 65, of Pine Grove, and James Deichert, 45, of Branchdale.The burglary happened at 947 Oak Grove Road in the township when someone entered the home through a basement door. While inside, the intruder(s) attempted to access a safe using power tools and proceeded through the remainder of the house, dumping contents out of drawers as they searched for valuables.Police said the intruder(s) stole multiple watches, several boxes of shotgun shells, handgun ammunition, rifle ammunition and firearm-related supplies.They then stole a 1971 Ford F-100 truck owned by James Deichert that was parked in the driveway. The truck is painted red and has a white hood and the letter "D" painted in white on its tailgate.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at (570) 739-1330.
