Members of the Tamaqua Community Arts Center are hosting their free open mic (mike) night today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the center.
Entertainer Jack Kulp will be hosting this event. Kulp added that this event is for all ages and levels of talent. Signup starts at 5:30 p.m. He added that artist should bring your their own instruments, amplifiers (if needed) and CD/MP3. A trap set, PA, piano, organ and two microphones will be provided. "This is a loud room, so no amps bigger than a 2x12 combo amp," said Kulp, who stressed that this in not a karaoke event. If you wish to perform to a CD or an mp3, you must bring it.
Performers will be called on stage in the order in which they signed up. Each performer gets three songs or 10 minutes of stage time.
The center is located at 125 Pine Street in Tamaqua.
