On May 16, Achey was traveling on Route 715 and observed a light in the woods. He stopped to investigate and found a riderless motorcycle. He notified 911. Despite his own medical challenges, Achey located the rider, who had been injured, and was responsible for his rescue. "Without Fire Police Chief Achey's aid, the rider's injuries may have resulted in death," said Eckhart.
