Mahoning Township police are investigating the theft of $1,000 worth of jewelry from Wal-Mart.

Officer-in-Charge Audie Mertz said the theft occurred on Wednesday at 2 a.m.

Police said a male cut a jewelry display case security cable. The male then concealed the case inside of a plastic tote. He fled the store in what was believed to be a Ford Mustang.
