Franklin 15's keep winning

Franklin Township put itself in good position with a win in the District 4 15-year old Babe Ruth tournament on Wednesday night.

DISTRICT 4 15BABE RUTHLansford-Franklin Twp.Franklin Township jumped out to an early lead and then exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning for a 15-1 win over Lansford in the winner's bracket final.Ben Cordova was the winning pitcher and helped his own cause with a base hit and RBI. K.J. Snerr went three-for-four with a triple, scored two runs, stoled a base and had three RBI's. Jordan McElmoyle had two hits, scored twice and added one RBI, while Brady Niehoff had two hits, two stolen bases and scored two runs. Ryan Malarkey also had two hits and three RBI's.With the win Franklin advances to play Valley, a 25-9 winner over Lansford today in the Loser's Bracket Final at 5:45 p.m. in Drums. If Franklin Township wins, it advances to the PA 15 Yr. Old State tournament being held in Williamsport hosted by West End Babe Ruth. If Valley defeats Franklin, it would force a second and deciding game to determine the District 4 representative.DISTRICT 18 10-11LITTLE LEAGUEFranklin-TowamensingTowamensing Township defeated Franklin Township by a 10-4 score to stay alive in the loser's bracket.Justin Behler had two hits and was the winning pitcher. Bryce Yacone and Matt Doherty also had two hits each for Towamensing.Towamensing takes on Valley West tonight at 6 o'clock at Jim Thorpe. Tamaqua Blue and Valley East meet in the winner's bracket final at 7:30.PVLL TOURNAMENTFranklin Twp-WeatherlyFranklin Township beat Weatherly by a 12-1 score.Logan Pagotto and Shawn Cope both had two singles for Franklin Township. The winning pitcher was Gunnar Williams.Weatherly had two hits, a single from Joel Hinkle and a single from Kevin Osifat.
