Cookbook signing

Local author Nadia Hassani will sign copies of her new cookbook, Spoonfuls of Germany, July 20-21 at Galen Glen Winery, 255 Winter Mountain Drive, Andreas, from 1-3 p.m.

The winery will offer a complimentary food and wine pairing of the cover recipe, Chicken in Riesling with White Grapes.Spoonfuls of Germany offers an in-depth look at the diverse German regional cuisine. Stretching from the shores of the North and Baltic Seas to the Alps, Germany has a large number of distinctive regional dishes that encompass a wide variety of vegetables and fruits; meat; poultry; seafood; dairy products; and more.The country's position in the heart of Europe, bordering on nine nations, has also greatly influenced German food and cooking.
