The tax office of Patricia Vito will be closed July 15-22 and will reopen on July 23.
St. John Lutheran
Tonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study at 6:30. Next week the Lansford Pool will celebrate Community Days. Each day residents from one town in the PV area will pay a reduced admission fee of $3 for adults and $1 for children.

Swim lessons will once again be offered at the pool this year. Morning sessions will begin July 22 and run through July 26 from 10:15-11 a.m. Evening sessions start July 29 and run through Aug. 2 from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
There are four levels of instruction available.
Level one is for the most basic and beginner swimmers and works on comfort in the water, with the ultimate goal of independent doggie paddle.
Level two is an introduction to basic stroke work and water safety. Swimmers in this group must be able to doggie paddle independently.
Level three is an intermediate level that refines basic strokes and water safety.
Level four is an advanced level that focuses on refining all strokes, water safety and some conditioning.

The Lansford Pool is open daily from 12-7 p.m.
Sign-ups are still being taken for the annual picnic to be held at the # 9 Picnic Grove on Aug. 12 beginning at noon. A Chinese auction will be held and bingo will be played. The deadline to sign up is July 22.
