A Carbon County driver is facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and fleeing and eluding police following an incident that occurred about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.

State police at Lehighton said Andrew Kressler, 64, of East Penn Township, was stopped for a traffic violation. Kressler was stopped in his driveway and he proceeded to run inside his home and lock the door, troopers said. He refused numerous requests to exit the home and entry was made.Kressler was found hiding in an attic covering himself with plants. Charges will be filed, troopers added.
