Tamaqua qualified for the District 11 Class 3A boys playoffs, while the Wreckers inched one game closer in local sports action on Tuesday.

Tamaqua-Pine Grove

Tamaqua managed to pull out a win over Pine Grove to improve to 11-7 overall and 5-5 in the league, while also qualifying for the district playoffs, with a 65-43 victory.

Brett Kosciolek led all scorers with a 26-point performance in the win. Zach Wargula also add 11 points for the Blue Raiders.

For the Cardinals, Kobe D'Agostino led the way with 13 points.

Tamaqua pulled off the sweep on the night with a 66-21 JV win, as Matt Minchoff scored 19 points for the junior Raiders.

Luke Reiner drained a three-pointer with three seconds left in regulation to lift Weatherly to a 63-62 Schuylkill League win over Nativity.

Reiner paced the Wreckers with a team-high 18 points, while Joe Haganey followed with 15 points. Teammates Brett Stallone and Josh Reiner both just hit double digits with 10 points.

The Hill Toppers' Kyle Kaledas led all scorers with a 25-point performance.

In the JV game, Weatherly came out on top with a 64-49 victory over Nativity. The Wreckers' Nick Miller finished with 25 points, while Luke Figas chipped in with 19 points.
