The lower level of the Tamaqua Salvation Army was filled with water after a water pipe froze and burst. Volunteers at the Tamaqua Salvation Army showed up to the building to see an ice-covered lot as water flowed out the back door of the center. Volunteers said the depth of the water reached their ankles. Salvation Army officers said they have insurance, but could always use donations for items not covered by insurance. Donations may be sent to The Salvation Army at 105 West Broad Street, Tamaqua PA 18252. Above, volunteers Jesse Durning, left, and Frank Tongue, carry large bags of ice melt to the back lot.
