Weatherly boys, girls get hoop victories

Weatherly managed to pick up wins in both boys and girls basketball over the weekend.

In other local action, the Lehighton and Panther Valley boys grabbed victories, while Tamaqua, Northwestern and Pleasant valley got wins on the girls side.BOYS BASKETBALLPen Argyl-LehightonTrailing by five at intermission, Lehighton erupted for 32 points in the third quarter to take charge of this non-league game and win, 76-49 over the Green Knights.That huge third frame saw Jordan Knappenberger score 10, while Anthony Rossino and Tyler Crum both added nine apiece.Four players finished the game in double digits for the Tribe (8-7), as Knappenberger's 19 points was a game-high.
