A major water main break in Lehighton was discovered this morning.

The break happened on what is referred to as the "high side" of town. It occurred near the water tank on NorthSeventh Street.

As of 10:25 a.m., no residents were without water.

A spokesperson for the Lehighton Water Authority said workers were digging where the break occurred and water will have to be shut off to replace the line.

Residents on the streets affected by the break will have a 72-hour boil advisory.

A list of those streets will be printed in tomorrow's TIMES NEWS.
