HARRISBURG – Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/ Schuylkill) announced he will again serve on the House State Government, Transportation, Gaming Oversight, and Local Government committees during his third term representing the 124th Legislative District.
"I'm pleased with my committee assignments for the 2013-14 legislative session," said Knowles. "I'm particularly looking forward to working as a member of the State Government and Transportation committees because I already have some legislation in the works that are specific to those committees."
The House State Government Committee is responsible for reviewing legislation dealing with all aspects of state government, including; proposed amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution, statewide initiative and referendum, legislative redistricting, election code reform, lobbyist disclosure, and campaign financing.
The House Transportation Committee handles legislation pertaining to general Vehicle Code and regulations, which includes driver licensing and training, vehicle registration, and rules of the road to name a few. The committee also handles all other transportation issues, such as mass transit, rail, PennDOT and highway issues.
"We have an active agenda ahead of us this session, and I am looking forward to getting to work with these committees to make Pennsylvania a great place to live and grow," said Knowles.
