It was a rough night for local boys basketball teams as Jim Thorpe, Palmerton, Panther Valley and Weatherly all dropped decisions in scholastic sports action.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Blue Mt.-Jim Thorpe

A 20-point fourth quarter put Blue Mountain over the top for a 63-45 Schuylkill League Division I win over Jim Thorpe.

The Blue Eagles' Kyle Flane led all scorers with 22 points, while Will Bornstein and Skyler Panchara followed with 17 and 10 respectively.

Jaquan Brown led the Olympians with 12 points, while David Everitt just hit double figures with 10.

In the JV game, Blue Mountain rolled to a 55-39 win over Jim Thorpe.

Panther Vy.-Pine Grove

Pine Grove posted a 66-55 Schuylkill League Division I win over Panther Valley.

The Cardinals' Brett Kreiser led all scorers with 24 points, while Koby D'Agostino followed right behind with 22 points. Teammate Jake Wolfe hit double figures with 11.

Steve Romanchik finished with a Panthers' high with 20 points, while Luke Stano added 12 points.

In the JV game, Pine Grove scored a 46-38 win over Panther Valley. Jake Kusko paced the Panthers with a team high 14 points.

Matt Savitski paced Lourdes with 13 points, while Michael Menapace added 12.

Brett Stallone led the Wreckers with 13 points, while Joe Haganey hit double digits with 11.

The Spartans shot over 60 percent from the floor and pulled away in the third quarter for a 65-50 non-league win over Palmerton.

Oslbey Mercer III had a game-high 23 points for Notre Dame (3-8) while Joe Orender added 19 and Mike Sheptok 10.

The Bombers (0-10) were led by Matt Leaver and Nick Frey with 15 apiece and Logan Lesher with 11.

Palmerton earned a split with a 56-10 win in the JV game.
