A 15-year-old female is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and other counts following an incident that occurred about 11:10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, near the intersection of Chestnut Street and SR54, in Shenandoah. It was one of two DUI arrests reported by state police at Frackville.

Troopers said the teen from Shenandoah was stopped at the above-stated location and found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to the barracks and submitted to a breath test, which indicated she was well over the legal limit of .08 percent.

A petition will be filed with Schuylkill County juvenile authorities charging her with DUI, drivers required to be licensed, and underage drinking.

Troopers added that an investigation into the incident is continuing to determine the source of the alcohol the girl consumed and the vehicle owner.

The second arrest occurred about 2:08 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, at the intersection of Center and Cleveland sts., in Ringtown. Charles A. Lindenmuth, 58, of Ringtown, was stopped at that location and found to be under the influence. He was transported to the barracks for a breath test which revealed he was over the legal limit. Charges will be filed.
