State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers over the past weekend.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, along SR895 in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Kyle Z. Davis, 22, of Dornsife, Northumberland County, was driving a 2000 Ford eastbound and stopped to make a right turn onto Hawk Mountain Road when his car was struck in the rear by a 1996 Saturn operated by Samantha L. Thomas, 28, of Drumore, Lancaster County.

Thomas was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by New Ringgold ambulance, troopers said. Davis and passengers Amos Zook, 18, of Lykens, and Slyvan Stoltzfus, 18, of Millersburg, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Thomas for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

A one vehicle crash was reported at about midnight on Saturday, Feb. 23, along SR61, near Darkwater Road, in New Castle Township. Troopers said Ryan Fegley, of Frackville, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound and failed to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle left the road onto the west shoulder.

Fegley steered to the left causing the vehicle to cross both southbound lanes and strike the guide rail, along the east side, damaging about 100 feet of rail.

Fegley was injured and taken to a Pottsville area hospital, troopers said, where he was treated and released.
