Middleport man among 21 who enter guilty pleas

A Middleport man was one of 21 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Joseph Richard Angst, 46, of 21 Main St., pleaded to driving under the influence DUI) of alcohol and drugs, and was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, with the sentence to be consecutive to a sentence of 30 days confinement on a charge of driving while license suspended, fined $1,000, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $460 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), attend the alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service.On a charge of driving without a license was fined $1,000; driving an unregistered vehicle, fined $75, unauthorized transfer of registration certificate, fined $25, and failing to wear a seat belt, fined $25 plus $200 in costs.
