The Supplement Food Resource Center at Effort UMC has changed the schedule of service. It is now open from 10 a.m. until noon, the second and fourth Saturday of each month, rather than every Saturday.

Lions to meet
The Western Pocono Lions Club will hold its monthly dinner meeting at The Old Mill Pizza on Route 209 in Sciota. Gathering time is 6:30 p.m.; the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Guest speakers will be Lions District 14U Governor Angie Mims and also Doug Harbach, director of Communications for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. He will speak on the impact of the gaming industry on citizens. The Lions have invited the Western Pocono Lioness Club members to join the meeting.
Girl Scouts meet
Girl Scout Troop 411 will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Zion Lutheran Church.
The Chestnuthill Township 250 Celebration Committee will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Chestnuthill Township Park Building, Route 715, Brodheadsville.
Knit & Crochet
Zion Lutheran's Knit & Crochet group will meet Tuesday, Feb. 26, beginning at 1 p.m. The group recently sent 18 knit sweaters and three hats made by them to Knit for Kids for distribution.
The church's Sunday School and others helped pay for the postage through a penny campaign.
Chestnuthill Seniors meet the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Participants make lap robes, boo-boo bears, play cards and games, and more. They also go on trips as part of their social agenda.
The club meets at the Chestnuthill Township Park building in Brodheadsville.

The Western Pocono Lioness Club will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, at The American Legion Post, Route 209, Gilbert. Special speakers will be in attendance.
Night of Unity
The annual Pleasant Valley Night of Unity will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the high school. A variety of groups will take part in the event. The snow date is Thursday, Feb. 28.
The group called Senior Moments, at Our Lady Queen of Peace, will meet Wednesday, Feb. 27 in McCawley Hall at 12:30 p.m. Church seniors are invited to join the group for lunch and fellowship.

The deadline for sending registration to Camp Cadet is just a month away.
