Forestry program set

Land owners are invited to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Forest Landowners Conference on Saturday, March 16 at Keystone College, 1 College Green, La Plume. The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Registration is at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required by March 8 and there is a fee to attend. The fee covers the cost of the morning break, lunch and educational materials.Penn State Extension in partnership with DCNR Bureau of Forestry has developed this one-day program to help landowners make informed decisions about the management of their forestlands. Topics include: Utility Right-of-Way Agreements, Insect and Disease Forest Pest Update, Invasive Species Id and Control, Gas Lease Wildlife Habitat Restoration, Incentive Programs for Landowners, Prescribed Burns, Utilizing Low Grade Forest Products.For more information contact Luzerne County Extension at (570) 825-1701.
