The Weatherly boys and Lehighton girls picked up wins in basketball on Monday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Weatherly-N'umberland

The Wreckers scored the first 13 points of thegame and never looked back en route to a 60-38 non-league victory over Northumberland.

Charlie Wallish led Weatherly (12-9) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Brett Stallone added 13 points, while Joey Haganey finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Weatherly also won the JV game by a 65-21 score.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pius X-Lehighton

A 33-point second quarter sparked Lehighton to a 71-22 non-conference victory over visiting Pius X.

The Indians' Kasaundra Barclay scored six of her game-high 18 points in the second, while Taylor Yurasits netted six of her double figure 13. Teammate Riley Durishin added six of her 10 right before half.

The Royals' Sadie McHale finished with a team-high 17 points.

Lehighton finishes the season 4-18 overall.

WRESTLING

Jim Thorpe, Palmerton at Falcon Invitational

Over the weekend, Jim Thorpe and Palmerton took part in Salisbury High School's Falcon Invitational.

The Bombers finished fourth in the team standings with 122 points, while the Olympians ended up in ninth place in the 10-team tournament. Warwick took home the overall team title.

Josh Evans (120) and Skyler Rosenberry (220), who both finished the tournament with unblemished 5-0 marks won championships.

The Bombers' Joe Bubble (138) and Zac Graver (152) fell short of individual titles as both lost their lone matches in the championship bouts.

Jim Thorpe's Ali Capobianco (120, 4-1 overall) and Brian Ohl (152, 4-1 overall), along with the Bombers' Zack Christman (132, 3-2) and Jake Christman (182, 3-2), took home third place honors.
