A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, along Little Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township.

Troopers said Joshua J. Damore, 38, of Palmerton, was eastbound when he swerved off the road for unknown reasons and hit the guide rail and then a telephone pole. Damore left the scene to seek medical attention for his two children who were in the vehicle with him. Damore and his two children were treated at the Palmerton hospital.

Troopers said charges will be filed against Damore. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
