Holy Trinity Church
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will hold Ash Wednesday services at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at The Village. Evening services will be held at Holy Trinity, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday evening Lenten soup and sandwich services will begin Feb. 20. Supper will be from 6-7 p.m., with services from 7-7:30 p.m.
Historians to meet
Palmerton Area Historical Society will hold its regular general monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 11, in the Knight's Gallery of the Palmerton Area Library.
"Behind every successful man, is a successful woman." So the saying goes.
The program for the evening will take a look at the wives of some of the nation's earliest presidents to get acquainted with the spouses of these successful men. A brief business meeting will start at 7 p.m. followed by the program.
Palmerton Lions to meet
Palmerton Lions Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at the Fire Line Hotel. Plans are under way for the club's community spirit night. Members are also asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the local food pantry.
Community members are reminded to donate used eyeglasses at Houser Newman Eye Associates, Walters Optometric, First Northern Bank & Trust, Citizens Bank, all located on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton and/or the Palmerton Area High School located on Fire Line Road or by giving them to any Lions member.
Eyeglasses are recycled for those in other countries who are unable to afford corrective lenses. In addition, anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairman Jim Sheckler at (610) 826-4533. There are financial guidelines that must be followed by all applicants and a written application must be completed and approved.

The Miller Keystone Bloodmobile will be at the First UCC on Monday, Feb. 19, from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
The bloodmobile will also be at Palmerton Area High School on Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
