State police at Frackville reported on two crashes probed by troopers.
A one vehicle crash was reported about 4:38 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, along SR61, near E. Darkwater Rd., in New Castle Township. Troopers said Roxana Achach, 40, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2002 Ford Focus SE southbound when she failed to negotiate a right curve. The car began to spin clockwise and traveled off the road. The front of the car impacted with the guard rail in the median. After impact the car traveled about 30 feet south and came to rest in the passing lane facing south.
Achach was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers also investigated a one vehicle crash about 12:12 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, along Interstate 81 in Frailey Township. Troopers said Susan Evalyn Tegethoff, 46, of Carilisle, Cumberland County, was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck southbound when she lost control. The truck went onto the west berm and continued up an embankment where it struck multiple trees and became lodged in the wooded area.
Troopers said Tegethoff smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). She was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
Damages were minor to the truck and Tegethoff was not injured, troopers noted.
