The east bound lanes of I-80 in Kidder Township were closed Friday afternoon and evening after a sudden white out claimed over 25 vehicles. The crash occurred as travelers were heading east and were stricken by a sudden snow storm. The intensity of the snow was so great motorists could only see a matter of feet in front of them. The crash included a number of tractor trailers and cars. At least three injuries were reported. The interstate was closed at the Pocono exit eastbound. Motorists traveling north on the Pennsylvania Turnpike were backed up several miles before the exit due to the volume of traffic coming off the interstate. Traffic was detoured east along SR940, which also backed up at the Blakeslee Corners intersection. State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the accidents.
