The Panther Valley boys basketball team picked up a close win over Shenandoah Valley on Monday night.

Panther Valley held off a late rally to upend Shenandoah Valley 51-47.

Jake Szczecina led the Panthers (6-3) with 17 points, while Kyle Ferryman added 13 points, including two three-pointers.

Angelo Maskornick paced the Blue Devils (1-7) with a game-high 22 points. John Storm was also in double figures, scoring 11.

Panther Valley was also victorious in the JV game, 39-30.

North Schuylkill used a late surge to edge Tamaqua 48-46 in Schuylkill League Division 1 action.

Tevin Murray finished with 12 points to help the Spartans (5-2; 2-0) outscore the Raiders 19-14 in the final quarter.

Brett Kosciolek scored a game-high 25 points for Tamaqua (6-3; 0-3). Bo Rottet was also in double figures, scoring 11 points for the Raiders.

North Schuylkill won the JV game by a 45-33 margin.

Minersville scored early and often en route to a 67-22 win over Panther Valley.

Reighly Melochick poured in a game-high 24 points on the strength of six three-pointers for the Miners (7-1), while Abby Schosfstall chipped in 12.

Jamey Mikovich paced the Lady Panthers (4-5) with eight points while Madison Blasko tallied seven.

Minersville also won the JV game, 73-11.
