State police at the Frackville barracks said a Frackville man escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash in which the vehicle was severely damaged at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 26 on Main Street in Gilberton.

Police said Stephen J. Rodick, 67, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet S10 Blazer westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle traveled along the west berm, rotated slightly couonter-clockwise and its right rear struck and broke a utility pole. The vehicle then spun 175 degrees in a clockwise manner and its rear bumper struck a clothing collection receptacle and a chainlink fence before coming to a halt.

The driver will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
