Two women were cited by Tamaqua police following a fight in the borough on Dec. 4.

Patrolman Karl Harig was dispatched to 76 Hunter St. at 7:56 p.m. and spoke with Dawn Valentine, 35, who stated she had been assaulted by Michelle Marie Rex, 38, of 6 Cherry St.

Harig interviewed both women who agreed that Valentine was walking along the street when Rex shouted an insult at her from a passing vehicle. Valentine yelled back and Rex stopped the vehicle, exited and approached the other woman. Soon they were wrestling on the ground exchanging punches and pulling each other's hair.

Both women were cited for disorderly conduct.
