A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 1:16 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, along Brandonville Road, in Union Township, but is facing charges.

State police at Frackville said James P. Druding, 41, of Ringtown, was driving a 1997 Subaru Impreza eastbound and failed to negotiate a slight left curve in the road. The Impreza went onto the berm and struck a PPL utility pole with the front end. Impact sheered off the pole and it was suspended in the westbound lane.

After impact the Impreza spun clockwise 90-degrees and ended up facing south partially over an embankment.

Troopers said Druding left the scene and is facing multiple traffic violations.
